Kate Campion, CPDT
Kate Campion is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer and the Training Coordinator for The Collared Scholar. She teaches dog training classes and consults with dog owners about a variety of behavioral issues. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Biology from Mount Holyoke College and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
Kate started her training career in 2000 at The Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. During her time there she was active in training husbandry behaviors for the Aquarium’s collection of penguins, Harbor Seals, and Stellar Sea Lions. In 2002, she left the marine mammal field and became the Behavior Assistant to Behaviorist Kelley Bollen at the MSPCA in Springfield, Massachusetts. Kate’s primary role was to perform temperament evaluations on relinquished dogs, manage a very busy behavior helpline, provide enrichment for shelter dogs and cats, as well as train dogs for adoption readiness. She became the shelter’s full-time Behavior Consultant when Kelley left in 2004. In 2006, she joined the Dances With Dogs Daycare staff where she monitored group play, offered behavioral and training advice to the staff when needed, and began teaching dog training classes for Animal Alliances, a business owned by Kelley Bollen.
She has attended numerous workshops and seminars held by some of the most well-known and well-respected dog trainers and Behaviorists in the world, including Kelley Bollen, John Rogerson, Sue Sternberg, Myrna Milani, and Karen Pryor.
Kate lives in Connecticut with her husband Michael, and their 2 year old twins. She is currently between dogs right now, having lost her Springer Spaniel in September.
